50% of all lifetime cases of mental illness begins by age 14. 75% by age 24 (NAMI). Yet youth voices, especially those of color, remain frustratingly underrepresented in mental health advocacy. That's where Letters to Strangers comes in.

With our innovative and science-informed, peer-driven approach, our three pathways of operation have shown time and time again why mental health matters. With our anonymous, therapy-based letter-writing exchanges, record-making education curricula, and grassroots advocacy efforts spanning 100+ Chapters in over 20 countries around the world, we are committed to making your every cent count towards a healthier future for all.

When we say “writing is humanity distilled into ink,” it’s because we believe that vulnerability and empathy through the written word makes human connection possible. When you choose to donate to Letters to Strangers, you are helping us bring that human connection to youth around the world, so that their lights do not extinguish. We cannot thank you enough.
